Three Different Languages at Work

This last Thursday night my wife and her soul winning partner Nan Mary were out soul winning when they came across a group of Buddhist ladies. Nan Mary is a former Buddhist herself and has told us that she has a real heart to want to tell the Buddhist about Jesus Christ. However, as they tried to witness to these ladies, they seemed mainly uninterested in hearing about Christ. My wife told me that they were invited into the apartment these ladies were at, but that there were a bunch of men inside drinking alcoholic beverages. The soul winners politely declined and moved on since the ladies seemed uninterested anyway.

As my wife and her partner continued to work the apartment complex a Karen lady that had been apart of the group separated and walked to the other side of the complex. The ladies struck up a conversation with her again and discovered that this lady wasn't really a Buddhist, but had only said that because the rest of the ladies were Buddhist. She called herself a Christian, but did not actually know for sure that she would go to Heaven when she dies. The lady invited my wife and her partner into her apartment where it was much quieter then in the courtyard.

They began to witness to the lady who speaks mainly the Karen language. My wife's partner speaks five languages, including Karen. However, her first language is Burmese, so it is this language that she speaks and reads the best. Thus, as my wife would share Scripture verses in English, Nan Mary would read them herself in Burmese, so she had the best understanding of the verse, then she would show the potential convert the verses in the Karen Bible. Praise God after about 30 minutes this dear lady accepted Christ as her personal Saviour!

God is doing a great work through our "To Every Nation Ministry." Right now the harvest has been great for the Burmese refugees, in particular the Karen people. Please pray that we will continually be reaping the harvest. Also, please pray for our other regional leaders to continue reaching their people groups.
