"Christ is for Reaching People" was the name of the Sunday morning morning sermon this week. I preached about how Christ intended for every Christian to be reaching people for the Lord. Nothing less than working to that end is acceptable with God. We had several visitors and the saw three people make professions of faith as having received Christ as their personal Saviour. We then got to see two of those follow the Lord in believer's baptism. God is good!

We also had a new Sunday school teacher start teaching today. Mrs. Looper did an excellent job teaching her new class. One of my daughters is in that class and said she did do a really good job.

Our Sunday night service carried with it an excellent spirit as well. I preached from Nehemiah chapter 12 on "The Joy of Serving the Lord." My text verse was
Nehemiah 12:43 "Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off." The people of God found great joy in serving the Lord. The only joy and happiness any Christian will ever have is going to be serving the Lord. No one can find happiness in just being a pew sitter! God wants our life to have purpose, that purpose is found in serving. J.O.Y.
